Personal Message (Back to Top)
I have been certified as a Massage Therapist by the State of Maryland and the National
Board since 1999 and a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner since 2005. Throughout
my years of practice and study I have learned that the most important quality in any relationship, with myself and others, is Presence. Without Presence their is no real
connection, no awareness of "what is".
In each moment anything can be met and can be held. Our pain can be a portal for transformation, an awakening, an invitation to open our hearts to new possibilities
that then mediate the emergence of our True Self, just like a beautiful butterfly
emerging from it's cocoon.
It is with deep honor, humility and joy that I accept the call to do this work.
Warm Stone, Essential Oil Massage (Back to Top)
Warm Stone, Essential Oil Massage is a type of bodywork that uses deep penetrating heat from specialized stones, therapeutic grade essential oils and Swedish/ Deep Tissue Massage techniques. During a Warm Stone Massage the warm stones will be used, actively and passively, to enrich every aspect of your massage experience. The effectiveness of the massage is enhanced by the aromatic, healing properties of the essential oils. During each session, I select a specific combination of oils according to their unique properties and the individual needs of each client. This type of massage takes you into a deep state of relaxation, releasing stress and anxiety, detoxifying the body, and balancing your nervous system.
Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage (Back to Top)
Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage differs from a Warm Stone Massage in that the focus of the session is directed to resolve a specific condition and or source of pain and discomfort. I may use a variety of modalities or techniques during the session including warm stones, essential oils and myofascial release. Therapeutic Massage enhances the body’s natural self-healing process and may reduce the recovery time from injury or over exertion.
The Feldenkrais Method (Back to Top)
The Feldenkrais Method focuses on the relationship between movement and
thought and, in so doing, includes two modalities: Awareness through
Movement (ATM) lessons and Functional Integartion ( FI ) lessons.
You will find that increased mental awareness and creativity accompany
your physical improvements when you participate in either of these lessons.
Then, as you become more aware of limiting habits and patterns, you
begin to appreciate the breadth of possibility in all aspects of your life
During an ATM lesson, as you comfortablely lie or sit on the floor,
you will be verbally guided through a series of slow, gentle movements
that will allow you to explore an easier, more enjoyable way to approach
your daily life. Similarly, during an FI lesson, a teacher, communicating
through gentle touch, will guide you through your unique process of
individualized self-discovery.
Reiki (Back to Top)
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing that cleanses and balances the energy patterns in the body. As a result, the body’s natural self-healing mechanisms are strengthened, helping to establish optimum mental, emotional, and physical health. As a level III Reiki practitioner, I bring this elemental sensitivity to every bodywork and massage session I facilitate.
CranioSacral Therapy (Back to Top)
CranioSacral Therapy is a modality that focuses on gently stimulating your CraniosSacral system ( the membranes and fluid that surround the brain and spinal cord ) and improves the function of the central nervous system. CST effectively complements your body’s natural healing process. The very gentle, rhythmic contact characteristic of this work can help those suffering from chronic pain, fibromyalgia , migraines and TMJ pain.
